The collaboration between Napapjiri and Martine Rose started in FW17 with the Napa by Martine Rose & Napapijri collection. The brand partnered with London menswear designer Martine Rose to create an exclusive collection that takes inspiration from the 90’s fusion of high end fashion and streetwear, a period with a heavy focus on outerwear in which urban youth took high end fashion from the catwalk and made it their own.

Napapijri’s extensive archive and outerwear expertise allowed Martine Rose to choose individual iconic pieces that inspired her and merge them with the bold block colours from her research.

The eighth and final Napapijri Martine Rose collaboration takes inspiration from cult movie Scarface and Classic Italian Tailoring.

Tracksuits have been re-imagined as three-piece suits; a gilet, zipper and trackpant featuring personalised pinstripes with the words ‘Napa by Martine Rose’ forming the stripes. SS21 also introduces a reinterpretation of the bomber jacket, which is designed as a single-breasted tailored jacket, and the use of Savile Row woven label inspired graphics often found in jacket linings.

Inspired by Tony Montana's wardrobe in Scarface, SS21 introduces patterns inspired by the film’s Hawaiian shirts and flamboyant home interiors.
One of the key pieces is the classic Epoch jacket: inspired by mountaineering and Napapijri's iconic Skidoo, it has evolved from the inside out alongside the collaboration.
